what inspires you?

"I participated in a blog link-up recently so I decided to start one of my own – What Inspires Me! Feel free to add a link to your own blog post about what inspires you at the end of this one. Mine’s about fitness but yours can be about anything you like!" -Emmalina

This idea came from Emmalina, at LoveEmmalina.com! This blog is supposed to be about what inspires me. I have three things in my life that inspire me to do the things I want to do in my life. Well, not actually things but two people. Three beautiful, amazing people.

Scarlett Faith
You, my beautiful baby girl, are one of these three people. Though it is a fact you are not biologically mine, I will never treat you as anything less than mine. You are so beautiful to me Scarlett and I see so much of your daddy in you every day. You are so smart and independent, even at 8 months old. I know that you're going to grow up to be an amazing little lady and I am so thrilled that I will have a part in who you become one day.

And for you, my lovely, amazing, wonderful and supportive partner. You get me through all the hard times and celebrate all of the good times with me. I don't know how I would make it through without you. You truly are the best person I could have chosen for myself. You keep me laughing and you help keep my stress level down when things at home get tough. I'm so proud of you for everything you're accomplishing in your life right now. I know that you're very intelligent and that you truly can do anything you set your mind to. I know you're going places in life and I'm coming right along with you.

Both of you inspire me to graduate high school and to go on and make something of my life. Because of you two, I want to go to college and become either a web designer or a culinary chef. I have goals for myself now. I wouldn't be where I am today if I didn't have the motivation I obtained through realizing what kind of life I could have once I moved away from home.

Grandma

Last, but certainly not least is you Grandma. You inspire more than anyone else in this entire world. You were the brightest person I knew, and now you're the brightest star. My entire life you were always so beautiful to me. No matter what wrong I had done or what mistakes I had made, you still loved me and told me how beautiful and smart you thought I was. You were the head of our family and it's not the same without you. But even though you're not with us anymore, the inspiration you left with me is. You've inspired me to live my life the way you did. To become a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, and a great-great-grandmother. To become a wife, a sister, a loyal friend and compassionate person. I want a family like you had and I hope that someday, when I'm old and have lived my life, that I can look back and say that I reached this goal. That I took what you taught me and became a better person. I hope that during my lifetime I can touch half as many people as you did. You are so loved and I miss you so much. But I will never forget the amount of love you held; It was inhuman.

keeping it happy

I haven't updated in a while due to my computer being a piece of crap. The fan eventually stopped working all together, so when I would turn it on it would overheat very quickly. When that happened it would just shut off by itself; No warning. My dad took me to Best Buy last Monday and bought me a new laptop. It's pretty nice and is great for gaming.

Brandon and I are still going strong. We celebrated our six months the Friday before last. He wrote me a really nice card and bought me some beautiful white flowers. It was really sweet how he did it, too. My dad made me take my sister Hannah to her mom's house in Augusta that afternoon, so I was gone most of the day and didn't get a chance to see Brandon. I got home pretty late and when I was pulling into my driveway, I noticed something sticking out of my mailbox. I went to find out what it was and saw a bouquet of flowers in there! It was completely romantic and I couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate six months.

As for Scarlett, she's doing perfectly fine. She's starting to teeth now, which is a huge struggle because Brandon and I are so helpless. We don't know what to do to help her! We took her with us to the Mexican restaurant the other night as our first experience out as a family. Brandon and I definitely need more practice when it comes to taking her out. The first thing she did was grab the salsa bowl and throw it across the table and it went everywhere! I thought it was hilarious, but Brandon was really nervous after that. I had to take her to the bathroom and change her during dinner because she did a massive poop. It was so funny because she was sitting in her highchair playing with her toy, then all of a sudden her face started getting red and she started grunting and struggling.

I'm back in school now and I'm so excited because if I pass all of my classes this year, I can graduate! That's so huge for me, because I thought that after everything I've failed lately, there was no hope for me graduating on time. I'm so thankful that there is still an opportunity. I literally almost cried when I found out I would still walk in 2012 with my original graduating class.
